When most people think of residential metal scrap, it may not appear to be worth considering recycling. There are however many properties large, small and even commercial in the metro area, many of which may be older type structures that may be full of copper, zinc and lead which can fetchgood market prices per kg. There are many old churches, homes, halls, shops and turn of the century buildings that may contain tonnes of metal within their structures.

 

Often the buildings have reached their useful life and the materials either are demolished or extracted to be replaced with lighter materials with low maintenance and better functionality.
